Voltar, of Voltar's Newbie Webmaster Resource, has been named spring 2003's Webmaster of the Year finalist, AdultChamber.com announced March 31.
He was cited for staying ahead of the resource curves with numerous articles, guides, programs, and message board assistance AdultChamber.com said displayed not just dedication to newcomers but to the adult Net as a whole. They said his key was "communicating good information (that) offers all newbies that come to his site a fair chance to learn the ropes in an often cut-throat market."
"I give newbie webmasters the skills, knowledge, tools, and experience to learn to earn," said Voltar in a statement. "When I started teaching new Webmasters close to five years ago, there was a 95% lose rate. Today well over half of those that find me and VNWR succeed and stay in business."
A great Webmaster to Voltar takes time to teach the new generations, particularly when it comes to proper business and Webmastery, "to shape the future of our industry into a long term profitable business model."
But Voltar's dedication, AdultChamber.com said, goes beyond VNWR: he's involved actively with the Webmaster Friendly Association ("Webmasters supporting [link type sites] and building Webmaster-friendly sites can both become WFA members") and DFN Weekly, an online journal featuring articles and tips for adult Webmasters.
Webmaster of the Year Award nominations are accepted through December 15, 2003, with each quarterly winner awarded a certificate and prizes including wireless headphones from Advertising-Link.com, over $1,000 in free content from Cool Piranha Content, and a bonus give from Adult Revenue Service.
One of those four finalists will be named Webmaster of the Year at January 2004's Internext convention in Las Vegas, with grand prizes including a vacation for two to Hedonism III in Jamaica, $1,500 cash for airfare and spending money, a Viewsonic 17=inch flat screen computer monitor, and a Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart 4.1 megapixel digital camera.
