Vivid stars Chasey Lain, Janine, Julia Ann, Jenteal and Raylene will star

Vivid stars Chasey Lain, Janine, Julia Ann, Jenteal and Raylene will star in a new music video that's being lensed in downtown Los Angeles tomorrow. It's a video for platinum recording artists Everclear and their cover of the Thin Lizzy classic "The Boys Are Back In Town". Everclear front man Art Alexakis and "Detroit Rock City" director Adan Rifkin are co-directing. The video also stars actors from the upcoming film "Detroit Rock City" including Edward "T2" Furlong and Kiss' Gene Simmons. The movie, a '70's-period piece, opens August 13 with the soundtrack available August 3.

"Adam Rifkin who directed "Detroit Rock City" has had adult film stars [Ron Jeremy, particularly] in his pictures," said Vivid publicist Brian Gross. "I got a phone call about having Vivid girls in this video. With their schedules it all worked out great to where we could get them involved. Everyone's psyched about this. It should be a really fun video."

The massively-invested Kid Vegas sci-fi feature, Cock Sucking Skank Whores wrapped up shooting this past Saturday. To put it mildly, the experience was something out of Mad Magazine, prompting Stevie Strange, a Vegas posse member and a participant in the vid, to comment that Kid Vegas is doing Ed Wood porno. To put that remark in its proper perspective, consider that Vegas was wearing Elton John sunglasses, combat boots, printed boxer shorts and little of anything else at the time Strange made his comment. John T. Bone who's distributing Vegas' product has this to say:

Bone: "The story of this movie is how the Kid acq uires his new studio and then him making his first movie in the studio which is this space-thing. You missed the girls being drenched in tomato sauce and you missed the blowjob with the California Chamber Kazoo Orchestra playing the Star Wars theme. I'm not quite sure how the girls got drenched. I was shooting camera, but there was one point when they were instigating the power of the Force. Obviously the Kid has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this movie. He's got costumes, he's got sets, he's got special effects, and one of the effects is where they use the power of the Force, and a can of tomato sauce moves across the set. Sometimes you can't see the string that's pulling it. But it's a very expensive effect. And then somehow the can gets opened and its gets thrown all over two girls [Barrett Moore and C.J. Bennet.] Another girl sucks Chris Charming's dick and that's when we bring in the kazoo orchestra. Then there was 50 pounds of popcorn dropped on this girl. This shoot was rife with stunts, fight scenes, special effects, car crashes and computer animation."

G. Ross: "I'm sorry I picked the wrong day to come. I missed all that."

Bone: "No, you just didn't do any of the drugs. But that won't stop other people saying you were seen on the set smoking crack."

G. Ross: "Hard as I looked in the parking lot, I didn't see a tank."

Bone: "That was Saturday. Sunday we were test-driving them. He [Kid Vegas] test drove about six or seven. Again, I'm waiting decisions from him on which one he particularly likes."

G. Ross: "I understand GM gives you a pretty good deal on a three-year loan."

Bone: "GM is gone. Remember they had a building on Van Nuys Blvd.? Kid Vegas took it out on Sunday. They won't be doing anything for awhile."

Overheard at the Vegas shoot was an intriguing comment made by C.J. Bennett about her former gymnastics career. She was asked about that. Bennett's back in the business about 40 pounds lighter and a lot blonder. Bennett used to go about 140 when she was a brunette.

Bennett: "I had the chance to go to the Olympics when I was 8 years-old. I did balance beams and parallel bars. I did ballet and gymnastics from the time I was two or three. I was with Boston Ballet for about 12 years. I did gymnastics about ten. Then I got into cheerleading and did some aerobics competitions. I got into the adult busines because people always have that SIDE to them. I watched porn when I was 13 or 14. And when I was seven, my dad always had the magazines under his truck seat, so when he went into the store I'd always look at them. I thought that was pretty cool. So, when I moved out here I just fell into it.

"We get to do the things other people dream about. I first came into the business in 1992 and left because of drugs. Too much stuff was going on. I was losing my mind. You can lose your mind if you don't watch out. You're doing whacked-out shit in front of the camera. I left and moved to Las Vegas for awhile. That was worse. Then I came back. I started doing body to body massage, and bachelor party-stuff. Then I got back into video because I missed it. I came back as a blond because I don't want to look like the old me. I've been doing stuff for VCA, Pleasure Productions, Vivid, Elegant, All Good Video and Extreme. Then I called John [Bone] the other day and we started reminiscing about stuff we did. He did some really good stuff back then - crazy stuff for Fantastic Pictures. We pushed the limit and did some extreme stuff. I like verbal degradation. I won't watch pornos if they're not verbal. I like ruthlessness. I don't like passion. I'm not one of those.

"I work out evry day. I've got a personal trainer. I want to finish my biology major. That's number one, getting back to school and doing it for real. I'd like to do physical therapy for sports injury.

"Here's the whole story between me and Bud Lee. I was dating Bruno and he's really jealous and very possessive. I don't need that. I told him Bud Lee liked me and wanted to meet with me and do some stuff. He took it totally the wrong way. I didn't read the whole story [posted on geneross.com]. Somebody called me and told me about it. This stuff happens in this business, but Bud never said I had to suck his dick for work or do anything. It wasn't like that. I didn't even know Bruno talked to you about that. Now Bruno and I aren't going to talk to each other after tomorrow."

It took Rob Black a couple of days to work up a lather over Brian Surewood's comments made last Friday about an alleged Extreme feature called Cornhole Apocalypse which Surewood seemed to be certain was a stinging barb aimed at Apocalypse Productions, his company. Surewood painted a picture of a slightly gay feature where guys were taking it up the ass with strap-ons. Black says the name of the feature, actually, is Cornhole Armageddon, and it's directed by Charles Pinion.

Black: "A few months ago when we were at our old offices, that whole group Zupko, Surewood and all them came in. They had a meeting and they wanted us to distribute their movies. I said no, man. I don't make enough money doing that. We built the reputation where we come out with 6, 7 releases a month and sell over 3,000 pieces per thing, why would I want to do that with your movie and I get a percentage of it for all that work? We're greedy whores and built our names to do that ourselves. Plus, I said it was nothing real exciting. So, they said they didn't want us to take offense about them talking about us in interviews because it was good publicity and a cool thing. I said I didn't take it personally because these guys are like fucking pissants. That was that. Then I've seen in other interviews where they said Rob Black can blow them. It seems they're talking about a lot of homosexual things for me to blow them. I think it's from them hanging around Stagliano too much. I think they're all doing threeways where they're each sucking cock, having fag-love and eating she-male ass. I don't know why they call it she-male. It's a fucking guy that's made to look like a girl with tits. God bless 'em. When they showed us the movie [Anal Ball] and I screened it, I thought they had fag tendencies in the movie. The natural progression was for us to turn it down, then for them to go with Evil Angel for them to fill their needs. Maybe John's got cocktails and stuff so when they come down with the shit, John can ration out cocktails. They're Extreme wannabes but ripoffs of shit I did two years ago.

"I release over 20,000 tapes a month. We have other shit going. We have a wrestling corporation forming. I'm not into putting things up girls' assholes and watching them shoot out. It's been done. I got the awards. Tell them to give me a call in about two fucking years and see where they are.

"We made news in the wrestling sheets. They're talking about us and XPW. We have XPW shows, Saturday, July 31; Friday August 27 and September 24.

Black spent most of Sunday shooting the cover not only for his new company magazine but for Lizzy Borden's Bad Intentions. It features Borden, ax in hand, holding Black's dismembered head by the hair.

"The video box cover will be a bit more sexy," Black says.

Black: The free magazine will start coming out August 1. Instead of distributors wiping their ass with our flyers, we'll send a magazine which will have advertisments for all our products for the month, plus a photo gallery plus interviews plus reviews and everything you can imagine put into a 40 page magazine, color. It will hit all the distributors and video stores. It'll be another tool for them to sell our magazine. We're giving away the magazine free. Stagliano's magazine charges people. I foresee many companies trying to copy us. VCA puts out a Quarterly Report, big fucking deal. This is a monthly report of the company. Frankly, some of the distributors who own stores will try packaging them up and selling them for $10 on the street.

"Tom Byron, Jessica Darlin and Krysti Myst will be in Brazil August 2. They're going on signings, to publicize the magazine and Tom will shoot two transsexual movies and two straight movies. We're putting out a she-male line. It's going to be a gimmick. Everybody in the video's going to wear John Stagliano masks. I didn't want to give that away. I'm staying put here in the states."

Tony Kujawa writes: "I am not a big follower of porn, but I stumbled on your site from koam.com. and let me say this is better than Melrose Place! Very interesting and entertaining! I look forward to reading it every day."

Dave Cummings davecummings.com writes: "I've known and associated with Gigi Appleton (Avalon Enterprises, 818-882-0582) for years. Now that she owns Avalon Enterprises, I'm following her there, too! She'll be distributing my "Dirty Dave, The Sugardaddy" series, of which Volume 19 will be released by Avalon on July 23d; and, my new "Sex Fun" line, Volume 2 of which will be out in September---like the last 10 or so Sugardaddy videos, all Sex Fun releases contain eight sex scenes."

Appleton: "It just happened on Friday. I'm very excited and thrilled to have him back. Dave and I are personal friends dating back all the way to when I worked for David Sturman. I love Dave Cummings. To me he's a gentleman and the ambassador of porn. I think he's the best thing our industry could have. Dave just decided it was time to come back to me. I don't think there's any bad or hard feelings there at all. It has Luc Wylder's stamp of approval on it. No big deal. When Mickey Blank was running Sin City I met Dave Cummings. We've been personal friends. When I started Fallen Angel Dave brought his stuff over from Xplor Media to Fallen Angel. In the break-up of Fallen Angel, Dave stayed there for awhile. I guess he made the decision because of our personal relationship and the fact that I'm a salesman, he just decided that his stuff was better off with me. For me that's a wonderful thing. I get calls all the time for his stuff."

[By the way, Bailey Montaine who gets written about in the following story on Apocalypse, appears on the boxcover of Wet Shots Part 2, distributed by Avalon

Apocalypse Productions Goes with Different Contract Girl

Though one could read between the lines with comments made by Brian Surewood last week, Tommy Zupko, president of Apocalypse Productions, makes it official. Bailey Montaine Replaces Montana Gunn at Apocalypse.

"Due to a myriad of personal and professional differences which could not be resolved, the relationship between Montana Gunn and Apocalypse Productions is officially over," Zupko says. "Miss Gunn and I look at the world from two different philosophical perspectives, and that's all I'll say right now. Truth be told, situations in life like this are always subjective, so it doesn't really matter who's right or wrong. Half will agree with her and half with me, so the details are nobody's business and totally irrelevant anyway. Bottom line is it's finished and I wish her all the luck in the world and continued success."

Zupko says that he's currently in the editing bay, working on the company's second release for The Evil Empire titled Pussy Crimes.

"The bottom line, man, for me, man, is that it's about making good fucking movies - my way, original and cutting edge, where I don't give a fuck who I offend, including God himself. Everything else is motherfucking bullshit. I've already spent more than eight weeks in the editing bay on Pussy Crimes, which I guarantee will blow our first release out of the water. Anal Ball has already sold a shitload of copies, but believe me, all hell is going to break loose when Pussy Crimes comes out. I've got a new girl in it named Bailey Montaine, a feature dancer from Arizona, who blows away every fucking girl in this business. Her face and body are simply perfect and she photographs like an angel. Almost every company will want to use her but, as of now, she only wants to work for us."

Gunn had been tagged as the star and spokesperson to represent Apocalypse into the next millenium. Anal Ball, Apocalypse's first release under The Evil Empire (released June 23rd) features Gunn in arguably her hottest and strongest scene ever. In it, the blonde siren does an amazing array of carnal stunts with bananas, ice cubes, and Apocalypse's co-founder Brian Surewood's cock. Legendary director and The Evil Empire founder John Stagliano called Gunn's performance "one of the most erotic scenes lensed in years."

Although Zupko expresses disappointment in losing Gunn, he says he is currently hammering out the details on a contract with Bailey and emphasizes that he is motivated like he's never been before. "I've finally got a girl who looks like Cindy Crawford and is more than willing to work in my style."

Zupko also adds that, outside Bailey's looks and performance, what makes her even more attractive to Apocalypse is her attitude. "Basically," he says, "she tells me repeatedly that she only wants to work for me. She calls me three or four times a day to fill me in on all her outside offers, and says she's there for me whenever or for whatever I need. Christ! She's flying in for free for me just to so I can get some additional footage for her first scene! Unbelievable! This girl is the real shit, trust me. She's brand new to the business, Cosmopolitan gorgeous, and takes it in the ass! Just as in the signing with Evil Angel, God is smiling down on me once again."

Zupko says that the details of the contract, along with more info on Bailey and Apocalypse's upcoming publicity campaign regarding her will be released in the next two weeks.

Pussy Crimes will be released August 18th.

Zupko: "A friend of mine pointed her [Bailey] out. She did some amateur stuff but nothing of any significance. A few compnaies were interested in her. She came out to Vegas, and I helped Ray Pistol with a project. She did a girl-girl for him. I asked her if she would do a scene for me. She did and after she worked with us she said she didn't want to work for anyone else right now. In my opinion she's the prettiest girl I've seen in porn in a long, long time. You can draw your own conclusions about Montana. I can't say anything and she shouldn't either. But if she starts talking, I'm going to. We left it like this. It didn't work out.

"I have three or four different ideas that I'm fooling around with. First we'll have John [Stagliano] look at it [Pussy Crimes] then we'll start on the next project. Every movie we do from shooting to editing is a laborious process that I need a couple of weeks to pull back before we shoot the next one. Hopefully the product will do the work justice."

Midori xxxmidor.com writes: "I was shocked to find out there was no mention of my extended leave of absence nor my pregnancy. I also was surprised to find, while the Metro girls were mentioned to have danced for my boyfriend [Kid Rock], there was no mention of me going out on tour and being a guest performer in his show for 3 weeks nor the 8 page layout we did for Alternative Press music magazine. I also signed a record deal which hasn't been mentioned either. My website isn't even mentioned, gosh I make the cover of AVN and you would think you wouldn't forget all about me. (boo hoo hoo)

OK. My decision to break my contract and leave the business for the rest of the year was due to stress, over working, not being able to focus on my music and not spending enough time with my daughter. I spent 5 weeks in Miami working on my album and when I returned to LA, I found out I was pregnant, and I needed time to breathe. I needed time to make a well thought out decision as to what to do about the situation, without the demands of a dance schedule nor video schedule.

I have had a great time with the business, and I don't think I'll leave forever. Besides I have awards to win. LOL LOL

Gene sez to Midori: "Not to make a big issue out of it, but when you called on your cell phone, the transmission was breaking up, and you said you'd 'call right back.' That was two weeks ago. Ergo, couldn't write the story. But thanks for filling us in."

Tabitha Stevens writes: "It's Tabitha Stevens e-mailing you from NewYork. It was great seeing you the other day. I was reading through your site today and I noticed the commentary from Devon Sapphire. I do feel badly that I could not make his shoot on Wednesday the 23rd because as you know, I have been traveling a lot and I got stuck out of town. Indeed I did have my boyfriend call because I had too many messages and he was helping me out. Though I feel bad that I was a little late calling, at least I called.

Gene, I've been so busy traveling that I even had to turn down a totally awesome project for Brad Armstrong for Wicked Pictures. I was totally psyched to be working on both projects, escpecially the Wicked shoot because I love Stephanie Swift, and it would have been my second time working with Brad. All I can do is apologize. I only wish the best to Mr.Sapphire and I know Temptress will do an awesome job because she's a real talented girl. Thanks for taking the time to read this, Tabitha."

Stevens' comments provide a nice bridge to the interview conducted with Devon Sapphire during the Psycho Biker Sluts From Hell shoot last week. Sapphire provides some background about his entré to the adult business.

Sapphire: "I came into the business through my friend, Master Dominic. He's one of the good S&M guys in the business. He had been signed with Zane. I had been doing some PA work on feature film and some smaller AD work on softcore. Dominic was on the sets with Matt Zane, and Matt Zane hired me as his PA. I went from being his PA to being his PM and to help run Zane Entertainment as head of production for a year. There were certain things over there that they weren't willing to give me, and we parted ways at the beginning of the year.

"I left right after CES and Jonathon Morgan asked me if I'd be his production manager. I decided that I'd do that. I did a job for him and things went relatively well for him. I'm not working for him at this time. He's got John Lipson doing some work for him, but I might work for him [Morgan] again. I just kind of landed on my ass, freaking out wondering what I was going to do in this industry. I set my goals to produce and direct and be up for maybe best screenplay hopefully by the end of the year. I got lucky enough to be nominated for Best Sex Comedy last year, for Sudden Passions which I wrote and produced and Matt Zane shot. We had a lot of fun putting that together.

"Matt and I really made a good team for awhile, but he saw that I was pretty ambitious and that I wasn't going to be there forever. I wish Matt luck in his rock and roll career. I landed pretty much on my ass after Jonathon Morgan. I had known Chuck Martino. He had always been friends with me and treated me pretty good. He picked me up to PM for him after XRCO. Now I spend most of my time PM'ing for Chuck Martino. Right now I'm shooting a hard anal gonzo series for Cinderalla called Sexual Harassment. And I hooked up with Rob Knob [of Knob/Ryder Entertainment] to co-produce and co-direct a feature a month. I also wrote Carnal Secrets, a Jill Kelly feature which she's agreed to do for Knob/Ryder."

Sapphire said his presence on the Knob/Ryder set came about quite by accident, that another person was supposed to do it, but things didn't work out. Owner Rob Knob called asking Sapphire if he could put something together. "So I wrote a couple of scripts," Sapphire says. "Some people will laugh at this, but I'd like to be more like Chuck Martino in some ways," Sapphire continues. "I want to be a producer, a director and a writer and gain a positive reputation for making quality adult product."

Though Sapphire had written a number of scripts under the name Damian Sapphire, he elected to change his first name at the beginning of the year to Devon. Sapphire says there was some word play involved in the name change which is for something he wants to do later on in life. "Lot of people in the industry refer to me as 'Devon Boy'. I'm the only male Devon in the industry. There was one guy who came in and wanted to name himself Devon who was male talent. I informed him the first day I saw him which was four days into his career that he needed to change his name.

"I don't have any aspirations to become Brad Armstrong or Jonathon Morgan," Sapphire continues. "My goals for '99 were to work with the best people I could. I realized when I left Zane my ultimate goals were to be nominated for Best Screenplay hopefully by the end of the year. Since CES I've written and sold 20 screenplays, which is relatively strong. At least 12 of those have been features. I also got to write a feature for Mr. Marcus which I thought was exciting. I believe he's going to put it together for his new company, Fiction Films. I've done a lot of work with Shawn Ricks whose tremendous in his camera work. It's just phenomenal. It's good to work with somebody who knows how to shoot cable and to learn different angles from him. Working with Chuck Martino has taught me a lot about how to talk to talent on levels that I was still not aware of, and how to get the deal and how to be a producer. And, hopefully, by the end of the year I'll get to work with Wicked again."

Now, to complicate, the issue a bit, Knob/Ryder's Rex Ryder called to say that he's the director-of-record for Psycho Biker Sluts from Hell and Secret Agent 69. Ryder also sets the record straight on his first name.

Ryder: "My name's Rex not Jim. I was standing there when Devon said it was Jim. I wanted to get away to talk to you, but I was so busy. It was nutty. I was trying to direct two features at once. They came off very well. We accomplished what we set out to do at that location. [The Sundowners Biker Club.] As anything, we made a few changes in the story. Devon Sapphire did a good job of writing but we had to tweak it and change it a bit. I think they're going to be fun movies.

"We had some fight scenes with Inari Vachs doing some karate. She pulled it off like an old pro like she's been doing Steven Segal movies. Overall, it gelled. It was a damn good shoot. I get the directing credit. I've been involved in mainstream. I've done theater, plays and TV commercials and we're a little more pragmatic. If the kids want to tell somebody that's what they're doing [the impression got conveyed on ther set that either/or Kristen/Devon Sapphire were directing], that's fine as long as my movie gets made.

"I'm pretty realistic about that. We're also really blessed to have a great director of photography. We've got some pick-up shots to do this week. I also directed I Cream of Jeannie . [The Knob/Ryder Entertainment version, that is.] It was my first adult venture. I think we brought a new and interesting twist to the story. I tried to keep it more to a parody of the TV show. I wanted to keep it fun. But it's always a learning curve. Your second movie's better than your first...and so on. As we do this, Knob/Ryder will be putting out a polished product in the same vein as a VCA or a Wicked feature. I admire both those companies for what they put out.

"Rob Knob and I are very close friends. Sometimes we're mistaken for being brothers. We're hoping for the best and doing the work that's needed to get there. I'm happy with what we've done so far."

Terri Hess terrinicole.com whose civil rights legal battles with a particular Beverly Hills hotel has become legendary, says her interview on the Howard Stern radio show last Friday was as spontaneous as it gets. Hess was in New York on other business and decided to walk in on Stern.

Hess: "I was impressed that you got the website [information] going so fast. [Posted on 6/25.] Stern railed the shit out of me. It was quite an experience, not very complimentary to me, but my website was pummeled with hits. My book isn't published yet. [A Long Time Coming - The Search for Teri Hess.]

"I printed a thousand copies a year ago to use it as promos to try to get a publisher. I'm looking for a deal. With the last two years being as fucked up as they've been, I haven't had a chance to attempt to get a publishing deal.

"I also taped the Sally Raphael Show the day before Stern. It was hysterical. I reunited with my first wife who I was really good friends with but who I haven't seen in 13 years. She knew nothing about my sex change, and it was really a hilarious episode. They'll call me in a couple of days and tell me when it's playing, some time in July. While I was in New York I decided to walk on the Howard Stern show. I just walked in that morning. There's the lounge there. When the lunch guy went in, I put my book on top of everyone's lunch and said send this in there. They came out and started asking questions like what was my shtick. Well, I'm a post-op transsexual and came to show Howard my new body parts I said. He went for that. I got on and it was pretty cool.

"My court date is October 4. It will go to trial in court in Santa Monica. It's been my hope that as a result of this court stuff I can create a little celebrity status. When I filed the suit and did a press conference in October of '97 there was quite a bit of interest. I was on the news all day and all night about me getting beat up in the ladies' room. They liked the story. It was pretty unusual. When the media catches on that the trial is coming, I think there's going to be a lot more attention. I hope that will help me get a publishing deal. The book's ready to go."
