Vivid's 'How to Have a XXX Sex Life' Paperback Arrives

"How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide," a collection of hot tips on flirting and kissing, playful suggestions about foreplay, and in-depth examinations of the dos and don’ts, ins and outs of some of the most exotic sex acts imaginable, will be released in a paperback edition on August 9.

Debuting in the hardcover edition from ReganBooks imprint of HarperCollins last year, the book was written by Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Savanna Samson, Tawny Roberts, and the rest of the Vivid Girls, along with Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman.

“They are at the forefront of an amazing phenomenon: the increasing acceptance of adult entertainment into the mainstream,” according to ReganBooks. “With a little help from the Internet, pay-per-view satellite television and DVDs, the adult entertainment business has become pop culture. Now comes a book that is set to push it to the next level.”

"How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide" (Regan Books; ISBN: 0060581484; Trade Paperback $14.95) delivers advice that comes from firsthand experience as the whole book is tied together by wild anecdotes.

Reviewers have appreciated the book. Said Playboy: “In chapters such as ‘Knock on Wood,’ ‘Lip Service’ and ‘Shag Tag,’ these purveyors of the ‘happiness business’ dispense firsthand advice about everything from money shots to making your own video.'"

ReganBooks adds: “Men, and more and more women everywhere love the Vivid Girls, and will love to learn from them. Ask around and you will be surprised at who knows these ladies. People watch, read, and download pornography like it is going out of style, and they’re unashamed to admit it, and the Vivid Girls are the most popular and recognizable stars on the scene.”

The publisher admits that the “new open mindedness” also “comes with some backlash. At a moment when America is obsessed with one so called ‘morality’ issue after another, including obscenity and censorship, the book is sure to have its share of vocal detractors. This is, after all, a tantalizing examination of how to achieve sexual fulfillment--a bold and unabashed celebration of sensual pleasure--and there are plenty of people with whom this sort of thing doesn’t sit well.”
