Vivid on CBS

An advance crew from the CBS TV series, L.A. Doctors, visits Vivid today to dress up a set for an episode, parts of which will be shot on the Vivid premises tomorrow.

In the episode, a girl gets injured, and, while she's in the hospital with no I.D., it's discovered that she's an adult film actress. One of the doctors, taking the case to heart, so to speak, finds out who the girl is and does a follow-up that takes him to an adult company - Vivid. Background scenery will be pretty comprehensive and will take in a lot of the Vivid terrain including editing bays, warehouses, and the Internet and International offices. Vivid girls will be available in the event that extras are needed. And, making the publicity package that more sweet, is the fact that there's going to be an adult film shot within the show. It will be a Vivid film, naturally.

"We're going to try and incorporate a title that will have a Vivid name like the "Vivid Jungle," says company spokesman Dave Schlessinger of the gimmick. "There'll be a ton of Vivid product placement throughout the set," says Schlessinger. "This is going to be a pretty neat thing."

Vivid's also getting good play from product placements on the HBO show The Sopranos. Schlessinger got the contact through a friend of his who dresses sets. "I provided them with an incredible amount of posters and boxcovers. This has been great for us," says Schlessinger. "You can see the Masseuse 3 poster prominently." The Soprano people apparently turned the L.A. Doctor people on to Vivid. Vivid product placement will be very obvious on other shows, besides, but Schlessinger didn't want to be premature with those announcements.

The Devon interview on Howard Stern's radio show last Friday will probably wind up both on the E! channel and on Stern's CBS Saturday night show.

Vivid girls Raylene and Julia Ann will be doing sex advice columns in the May and June issues of Men's Health magazine. Whether that relationship will move through the summer isn't yet clear, but the magazine is apparently happy with things so far.

Comedy Central will be debuting a program this summer called "The Man's Show." A section of the show will be devoted to household tips from a porn star. Vivid girls will be offering tips on how to fix leaky faucets and squeaky chairs. Very campy stuff, is the word. Episodes will begin shooting this week.
