Vivid in the News

Vivid's enjoyed a press blitz in recent weeks. Of course, we wrote about the news profile which aired last week on LA's Channel 13, but there was also a lot of print media coverage as well. nnKira Kenner is profiled in the Industry Insider, Spring 2000 issue, Pillow Talk section, and is described as "one of the newest editions to the Vivid stable of Grade A starlets. Hailing from North Carolina, Kira got her start when [after breaking up with her boyfriend for four years] she sent Vivid some photos in the hopes of being chosen as a model for their box covers." nnKenner, according to the article was offered a contract on the spot. Choosing between a boyfriend and a fledgling movie career, Kira chose movies claiming there was something about the business that told her to stick with her. "It's just absolutely fabulous. I like it," she says. Kenner said she was an "extremely innocent girl" but the allure of trying new things was too much to ignore. Kenner says she likes doing DP's because she likes anal sex. nnVivid girl Sky also got a profile in the "Pillow Talk" section of the May/June issue of Industry Insider. Sky is described as a mesmerizingly seductive sex-goddess. On the set of Sky:Downloaded, she introduces the writer to Eric Everhard. "I did a DP with him and Vince Voyeur," Sky relates. "My first DP ever." Sky, however, is quick to point out that she doesn't do gangbangs. "There's no need to do more than three guys at a time," she says. "You take the fun out of it." nnFun is the reason why Sky got into the adult business, the article goes on to say. One night Billy Glide came to see her dance at a strip club and invited her to a party where Sky met with Shane. Shane asked if Sky would like to participate in her next video to which Sky answered yes. nnSky says T.T. Boy is her favorite performer and can recall whacking off to his movies. Though most women won't work with him because of his reputation for roughness, Sky says, she enjoys working with T.T. "I like the hardcore stuff. If you're gonna fuck me, come on and fuck me!" nnRed Book's June 2000 issue, in an article titled "5 Sexy Things He's Looking For", lists the Vivid title Bad Wives right up their with aids like the battery-operated "Tongue"; "The Prisoner of Love Kit"; ice cubes and massage oil for the perfect evening. According to Redbook, sexperts gave the movie rave reviews for satisfying plot, strong acting and believable characters. nnNextGen Magazine in its May issue puts in a generous plug for "Interactive Body Parts," Vivid's fully interactive DVD; then, in the June 2000 issue of GQ, a letter is written to Dr. Sooth: "I'm becoming disillusioned with porn movies. I'm sick and tired of looking at breat implants. Any ideas?" To which Dr. Sooth puts in a pitch for Vivid's line of European porn, particularly Talent Scout and Escape from Carpathia. "These were shot in Budapest using Europe's mosty beautiful women," Vivid's Brian Gross is quoted as saying. nnBillboard Magazine then caps off a fine publicity drive with an article in its April 29th issue about Vivid's "Interactive Mind Teazzer. The puzzle game, according to Billboard was directed by Dyanna Lauren and utilizes Vivid's state-of-the-art technology in challenging players to construct the perfect woman. "If you do it correctly, she rewards you with a striptease," says Vivid's David James. The racier, adult-rated version is "Interactive Body Parts." In the article, James predicts a banner summer with the rollout of Sony's Play Station 2 and new video game hardware from Sega, Nintendo and Microsoft. "They'll be able to play our discs," says James predicting a stellar market with their advent.
