Multi-platinum rappers Lil' Jon & The East Side Boyz are still down with the adult industry, having signed a deal with Vivid Entertainment to host two videos.
“Working with Vivid means we’ve gone right to the top of the adult industry,” said Lil' Jon of his new partnership. “We’re gonna have some fun, with hot sex and lots of crunk-ass parties.”
Lil' Jon is known as the “King of Crunk,” a reference to his role as the preeminent face of a high energy style of rap with heavy bass beats and repetitive, often sexual, lyrics that emphasize partying, known as “crunk,” a fusion of the words “crazy” and “drunk.”
“Lil' Jon is one of the great inventive legends of hip hop music. His music and lyrics have always been highly sexual, so we are delighted to be working with him on these Vivid features. His enormous success speaks for itself,” said Steven Hirsch, co-founder and co-chairman of Vivid.
Lil’ Jon’s videos for Vivid will be produced by Legacy DVD Works and Afro-Centric Productions, a division of Video Team.
“Lil’ Jon had expressed an interest in doing something with the Vivid girls and with the Vivid promotional machine but because I had produced a video for him before, and he was happy with the way it turned out, he wanted me to produce it for him,” Christian Mann, owner of Video Team, told AVN.com.
“This will play to our individual strengths; me as a producer of Afro-Centric and Vivid’s distribution reach and promotional abilities,” Mann added.
Production for the first feature, Lil' Jon & The East Side Boyz Vivid Vegas Party, began last weekend in Las Vegas and is almost complete. The title will be released sometime during the second quarter of 2005.
The tentative title for the second feature is Lil' Jon & The East Side Boyz Nightclubbin, which will be released in 2006.
Vivid says the videos will feature the Vivid Girls, including Mercedez, as well as some of the top ethnic talent working in adult today.
