LOS ANGELES—Vivid Entertainment Group announced today that it has obtained a copy of the much gabbed about sex tape made by former Miss California Carrie Prejean and is looking to make a deal with the model for rights to distribute it.
"We've now seen the footage that has been so much in the news lately, we've reviewed it and we are ready to negotiate with Carrie," said Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch. "We look forward to contacting Carrie and forging a business relationship with her."
This announcement follows Vivid's second public offer to Prejean, made Wednesday, of $1 million to appear in a movie for the studio. That offer—first extended last May after Prejean made headlines for her anti-gay marriage comments during the Miss USA pageant—was re-upped in light of the rumors that recently surfaced about this sex tape's existence.
"The footage we saw is a series of very graphic and hot clips," said Hirsch. "Let's just say that she appears to be totally enthusiastic and is thoroughly enjoying herself. Carrie says the tape was 'the biggest mistake of my life.' That may be, but she can take this mistake and turn it into cold, hard cash. I'm more convinced than ever that this could be our best-selling Vivid-Celeb tape."
Hirsch refuted the circulating speculation that Prejean was 17 years old at the time this video was shot, saying the third party who brought it to Vivid affirmed that she was of legal age.
The Prejean video would be distributed under the Vivid-Celeb imprint, which has released titles starring such personalities as Shauna Sand, Kim Kardashian and Ray J, Jimi Hendrix, Vince Neil and others.
