HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—According to TMZ.com, Vivid Entertainment Group co-CEO Steven Hirsch has sent a letter to "reality star" Honey Boo Boo's mom, "Mama June" Shannon, and her estranged husband Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, inviting them to "seriously consider making a movie with Vivid that could earn you up to $1-million or more."
The undated letter was sent to Ms. Shannon via The Learning Channel (TLC), which aired the show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo for four full seasons, which included several "specials," before the show was summarily canceled on October 24 after it was discovered that Ms. Shannon was dating a convicted child molester, Mark Anthony McDaniel Sr.
After noting that Vivid has already compiled a large library of celebrity sex tapes, Hirsch notes that, "One of the new genres that has become popular on VividTV and Vivid.com is BBW, which stands for big, beautiful women." Hirsch also assured Ms. Shannon that, "We would make the experience an enjoyable one for both of you and give you as much creative input as you would like." Hirsch enclosed his phone number and invited Ms. Shannon to "call me at your earliest convenience ... to discuss this opportunity."
Vivid, of course, is already famous for releasing hardcore movies of such celebrities as Kim Kardashian, Tila Tequila, Montana Fishburne and several others, and since most episodes of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo were seen by between one and two million viewers, Hirsch obviously hopes that a hardcore feature with the two adult "reality" stars would attract a similarly sized audience.
At press time, Hirsch was not available for comment.
