Vivid Entertainment Group’s Vivid-Alt imprint is set for a July release of the rockabilly-inspired The Rebelle Rousers. The title was directed by Winkytiki, a photographer that joined Vivid-Alt’s directorial ranks after meeting lensman Eon McKai.
“I met Winkytiki on the set of Ron Royster’s Atomic Vixens…I was familiar with him because he used to run second camera for directors like Jack the Zipper and he was poised to become a director himself,” McKai, who acted as executive producer on The Rebelle Rousers, told AVN.com. “Once I saw some of his stuff, I knew he was a pure artist to the core.”
“The Rebelle Rousers is really inspired by the exploitation films and old pin-ups of the 50’s and 60’s, complete with knife fights and hot rods,” Winkytiki told AVN.com, “it has a very retro feel to it. But it also has some very hard sex in it.”
The title, which stars Kimberly Kane, Page Morgan, Mysti May, Lexi Bardot, Nadia Styles and Dragonlily, was shot around Los Angeles and is Winkytiki’s first title. “Even though this is my directorial debut, I’ve been around for awhile, so I was lucky enough to be able to choose from an A-list cast of girls, and they were all great…they were really into what I was doing.”
“And I was so exited about the special appearance by [pin-up model] Masuimi Max. She’s so hard to book…I was honored.”
Both Winkytiki and McKai said that Vivid has given them full creative license with their respective projects. “I’m very impressed,” said McKai, “we’ve been given total control.”
