Production company Vivid Alt is spearheading a fundraiser for starlet Dana DeArmond, who has recently lost her home in a fire. DeArmond told AVN.com that she was at this year's Adult Entertainment Expo when she learned that a neighbor in her Los Angeles apartment had left a candle burning. Inside were all her belongings, including an art collection, her clothes and her computer. "Basically, my whole life was in there," DeArmond said. "The walls, roof and all contents of my house are completely destroyed. The only things I own were in my suitcase I took to Vegas."
DeArmond persevered, even with the news of her lost home, and signed during the last day of AEE and went to the AVN Awards show.
"We just want her to get back to the old Dana," said Vivid Alt head, Eon McKai.
McKai and the production company are auctioning off a bike from his latest release, Girls Lie, as part of the fundraiser, but he also urges anyone to donate what they can.
"If anyone has anything to give, Dana literally just has the clothes on her back," added Vivid Entertainment National Sales Manager, Howard Levine. "I know she'll be eternally grateful for anything." Levine mentioned gift cards as a possible option.
Additionally, director Tristan Taormino announced today that she'll run a special fundraising promotion on her official website, PuckerUp.com, to help raise money for DeArmond. From now through Valentine's Day, when anyone purchases a copy of Chemistry, Tristan's directorial debut for Vivid Entertainment, 100 percent of the profits will be donated to Dana's Fire Fund, the fund set up to collect money for Dana.
"Dana was such an integral part in the making of Chemistry, which was really a collaborative effort between the cast and I," said Taormino. "I just wanted to do my part to help as she and her boyfriend Daniel start to rebuild their lives."
