Doghouse Digital has signed feature production company Visage Films to a North American distribution deal. The deal calls for Visage to turn in an undisclosed number of projects over the next year.
“Visage creates incredible story-driven features, but in the past, their packaging hasn’t been all that it should be,” Doghouse Digital general manager Jon B said. “We’ve amended that situation, and now the box cover looks as good as the product inside.”
Visage Films is a high-end feature company that launched earlier this year, and has released five titles to date, consistently earning AAAA reviews and even one Editor’s Choice from AVN.
Doghouse Digital plans to release one or two Visage titles a month, beginning with the November release of Desperately Horny Housewives, a spoof of the popular mainstream television show “Desperate Housewives” featuring Lauren Phoenix, Brittney Skye, Nikki Hunter, and AVN Hall of Fame performer Chasey Lain.
A feature on the Desperately Horny Housewives DVD gives viewers the choice of watching the movie with a storyline from start to finish, or watch the same title as a wall-to-wall video. “You just push a button and the storyline is dropped,” Jon B noted. “That’s a feature that we’re planning on including on all of their DVDs, and it’s probably the single best application for a DVD that I’ve seen.”
“Visage creates quality adult movies that consistently feature some of the top talent in adult, and not just in front of the camera,” Jon B said, noting that the fledgling production company has already produced a comedy feature penned by famed adult scribe Martin Brimmer and veteran adult director Cash Markman has already helmed a number of their productions.
Brimmer wrote the screenplay for Visage’s Roxxxie Red, a porn comedy feature that earned an Editor’s Choice from AVN.
