Violet Love

We ran into Violet Love at the Mark Zane "stalker" shoot earlier this month. Love also attended the adults-only Mexican vacation this past October, but since we didn't have the opportunity to chat with her at that time, we asked her how she felt about the vacation.

Violet Love: I found Mexico very interesting. There were so many people there, watching and experiencing the same thing. There was a lot of nudity - all these guys. All from New York. ALL from New York, basically. These guys all just wanted to be part of it. But they didn't realize how hard we work, too with all the stress and stuff - especially the male talent and how hard it's for them to keep hard or the girl, especially with all these people watching.

"But it was fun. I worked five days out of the week with one day off. All of them boy-girl [scenes] except for a big girl orgy in the club. It was very good talent that I worked with, and everyone who put the whole thing together worked very hard. The fans loved it, and they had lots of fun. It was an X-rated dream that actually did exist for seven days.

"Yes, the weather got to me. I came back home and broke out. It ruined my skin. It was too humid. My sex scenes were really sweaty and I'm surprised I didn't get me sick. But the weather didn't make me lazy, either. Usually the humidity and food makes you cranky and lazy but having good people all around kept my spirits up. Everyone was a true sport. At the end I was excited to get home to people about it. Even my mother. [She laughs heartily.] But I didn't go into detail about it."

[Love says she's originally from San Antonio where she used to manage a nude club.]

Love: "I worked for a year and a half and resigned. I started doing stills in Dallas for a black magazine. Out of curiosity I wondered what it was like to be with another woman. I just never experienced it until I came to LA."

[Before she got into the club business, Love, who was self-supporting as a teenager, worked three years for a school district in a personnel office and started moonlighting at a club by dancing totally nude.]

Love: "I liked it. Of course, then, I had smaller breasts. I just got these in May. And I like showing my pussy. The owner of the club always kept his eyes on me. He told his wife about me. They got me in the office one day and asked me if I would like to be their manager. They told me I was the only one out of the gang that had a good head on her shoulders."

[Love weighed her options and compared the deal to what benefits she was getting with the school district. The dance club gig obviously proved more lucrative.]

Love: "This whole club experience was quite interesting. We had session rooms, 'dry' rooms, shower rooms, jacuzzi rooms. I would promote that and hustle my girls to do that. There was a 20-minute session for each customer. If they wanted to extend that, they could. Credit cards were accepted. Cash was accepted. Basically the client would go in the room all nude and the entertainer would come in undressed. There was music, strobe lights, candles, fog."

[Certainly makes lap dancing sound tame by comparison.]

Love: "The valley where this club was located was very strict with their laws. They allowed this club to open but they would always have an officer present to look in on the session rooms. There was some behinds-the-scenes things going on, and the officers got really rough with the club. The owner was a pig and liked to hustle money, customers and credit cards. That's why I got myself out of it. As time went by, there was always drama in the club with the girls and the owner. I was the manager so I was the mother, the this and that, and a friend. It was always headaches. I said fuck this. You can still be good at heart and not forget where you come from."

[Love came out to LA last year via Michael Raven.]

Love: "He [Raven] brought me in because he's from Dallas and he heard of me in Dallas through another friend. He had me working for Sin City at first and got me some good work. We had some fun, and I flew back to Texas. I came back in January, stayed for another week; came back in March and was moved in by April.

"I've been in this business eight months. The first four months I made some good cash. You're a fresh face and everyone wants you. So now I've done porn, I've done Playboy [the channel] and Cinemax; some music videos and moving on with mainstream.

"LA's been very good to me. I'm just thinking positive and keeping my head straight and being professional in everything I do - and with the man above. No matter what I do in life I just have good faith. That's what keeps me going. I've met some good people of this business, and that's what's kept me here."

As far as long term goals, Violet says, 'Five years ago I didn't know that I was going to be here or be managing a nude club," she says. "I figured I'd be a teacher. I can't really say what my long term goals are. I basically live day by day and like to live with the challenge. I like to grab what's out there. If I got the opportunity, I believe it's all meant to be. You bump into people for some reason at some time. Whatever it is, throw it at me. I'm here."

Love describes herself as a giver who's been willing to share. "I believe that's the way it should be," she says. Love also says she has a particularly good relationship with her mother. "I thank God for that," she comments. "A lot of female talent in the business have lost contact with their parents because they're afraid to mention what they do. We're all human beings. We're brought to this world with different color, eyes, race, but we're not brought into this world with a contract basically stating what we're going to be in life. It's up to you. Just be strong at it. Patience is very important, I've learned - with yourself and others. Good things do happen. It's how you walk lor run with it.

Love: "I know a few women who have become jaded with the business. They started with the wrong people and at the end felt they had nothing left for themselves."

Though she concedes that rent and taxes in California are a "killer," Love says she likes the fast line too much to consider moving back to Texas. "I cannot be mellowed," she states. "I go back home and freak my family out. They think I'm on something. It's LA. It's really challenging. I love it. But you gotta watch out. Sometimes you can lose yourself. A lot of people fuck with your ego. LA has made me stronger as a person. Inside and out. I'm proud of that, of whom I am and what I do."

She concedes that her Hispanic bacground was something of a hurdle. "But I've always been the wild one in the family," says Love who treasures her down time away from the business.

Love: "I'm a Leo. I get bored with the same shit. I need something different all the time. I like dancing, listening to good techno-spiritual music. I'll smoke one, do house stuff. Do the Hollywood-thing.

"I thought there was only one fantasy I wanted to fulfill and that was being with a girl or having a camera in front of me. But there's so much out there, even little basic shit I haven't yet accomplished.

"The nastiest thing I've done on camera? When I'm in film I work with passion. I have to have some type of chemistry with my talent. I like to look in their eyes. I did anal twice - once with Sean Michaels. Go figure. I suppose that was the nastiest thing because I'm so tight and had Sean Michaels go up my ass. It was very painful, but Sean knows how to work it. He went in smooth, but after that, I never did it again. I worked with Pat Myne in my first one. It wasn't so bad, Two days later I did Sean Michaels thinking it's cool, I can handle it. It was basic anal."

Evidently not.
