VideoPass Launches VOD Affiliate Program

After eight months in development, VideoPass has unveiled its flagship affiliate program, VideoPass Cash. The program leverages digital rights management to provide Webmasters with free content that provides a recurring revenue stream. The company calls the technology Self-Selling Files and Traveling Theater.

“This is the first-ever program to use advanced marketing technology to give adult Webmasters the ultimate advantage by allowing them the opportunity to generate sales and still keep their traffic on their own sites,” said Airek, director of operations for VideoPass. "These two power tools are just the cream skimmed from the top of our program. You've got to see this technology in action to really understand the usefulness and power of each tool."

VideoPass Cash provides affiliates with full-length adult movies from companies like Jill Kelley Productions, Legend, Red Light District, and KBeech. The films are secured by DRM technology that allows users to download and view a “teaser,” but then requires payment before the good stuff is revealed. Each downloaded package carries a unique affiliate code within the DRM “lock,” so whenever the content is purchased, the affiliate receives credit for the sale – no matter how many times the original package has changed hands.

Affiliates can utilize the program in several ways, Airek said. The most useful deployment method for many, he said, probably will be the customizable “theater” pages VideoPass Cash makes available. Using an automated, template-based system, Webmasters can design marketing pages that fit the look, feel, and niche of their sites. When a user decides to download something from the theater page, the package is “tagged” automatically and permanently with the affiliate’s identification code. The user never leaves the originating site, so Webmasters don’t see their traffic derailed.

Other Webmasters may prefer to “seed” the peer-to-peer networks with VideoPass Cash content. Still others may opt to go the movie gallery post route, although Airek cautioned that VideoPass Cash will only allow its affiliates to post its content to MGPs that are age-verified. “We’re really anal about that kind of stuff lately,” he said.

However a Webmaster decides to use VideoPass Cash’s content, there are no up-front costs and everything is served from VideoPass Cash’s servers, thereby saving affiliates bandwidth and storage fees.

VideoPass Cash sees its new offering as a big step forward in the video-on-demand arena. “Advanced promotional tools developed around the most advanced technology available at the moment will ultimately keep our program fresh and enticing to Webmasters seeking new ways to promote VOD,” Airek said. “By giving Webmasters more versatility and options for promoting a program, VideoPass Cash utilizes the next wave of marketing tools which will soon become the norm. VideoPass Cash offers active Webmasters generous revenue sharing commissions on multiple types of consumer purchases, Airek noted. The company also is actively seeking clients interested in licensing or purchasing VideoPass technology.

“Adult consumers are smarter and more educated now, and with that comes the need to offer multiple choices on how they wish to view content at the VOD level,” Airek said. “With video on demand being a young, barely tapped market at this point, we are planting the seeds which will grow our program and the direction of the market as more and more consumers become familiar with, and get comfortable with, VOD models.
