'Variety' Spotlights Hustler Video Parodies

LOS ANGELES — Variety.com has spotlighted Hustler Video in an article detailing the boom of sitcom-inspired parodies in adult entertainment. Hustler operations manager Jeff Thill is interviewed in the piece, written by columnist Brian Lowry.

Thill tells Lowry that parodies of television sitcoms—be they spoofs of classic shows such as Star Trek or current takes on reality programs such as Hell’s Kitchen—have “revitalized the DVD market in the adult world.”

And, while Lowry questions who the targeted audience for these parodies is, being that the young have little knowledge of the original source material and those who do have little tolerance for scripted porn, he is assured by Thill that parodies can inspire interest in porn from “a new audience that normally wouldn't buy them.”
