Van Styles, Penny Flame, Taryn Thomas in Rap Video

Director Van Styles and performers Penny Flame and Taryn Thomas make a cameo appearance in a new rap video from Murs that is playing on MTV U.

The trio appears in Murs’ new song called “L.A.” Murs, who has been an independent artist since 1997, is a friend of Styles, the 26-year-old former professional skateboarder.

“I’ve known the guy since I started working in the business, and I was a fan of his music before I met him,” Styles, who directs for Hustler Video, told AVN.com. “Penny Flame was also a fan. So was Taryn Thomas.

“He raps about different parts of L.A., and in the part we’re featured in, he raps in the song ‘home of the pornos’ and he’s got a shot of me and them in front of the Hustler Hollywood store [on Sunset].”

Styles said that Murs performed a big concert called Paid Dues in April, when they came up with the idea for his cameo. Styles and Flame were backstage for the show at LA’s Shrine Auditorium, where Flame was conducting interviews with the hip-hop performers.

Styles continued, “It’s great to be in a music video, especially of an artist that I’m very fond of. He doesn’t speak about the nonsense or bling bling, it’s more reality-based hip-hop. It was a quick, fun, little thing to be a part of.”

Styles in 2004 directed a music video for Murs called “Revenge of the Robots” that has since been released on DVD as part of a Def Jux compilation. Digital Underground’s Shock G and Humpty Hump, and adult performers Jada Fire, Olivia O’Lovely and Angel Eyes were all in the video.

Meanwhile, Styles said he recently finished shooting Barely Legal Corrupted 7, featuring Hustler contract girl Memphis Monroe in two scenes.

His next release, A List, is an all-anal video featuring Flower Tucci, Tia Sweets, Dana Vespoli, Brooke Haven and Tiffany Rayne. It will be released in June under the Hustler Hardline imprint.

The director’s next project is called Gaped Crusaders.
