Adult director Van Styles was recently featured in the summer 2007 catalogue for mainstream skateboard shoe company Lakai.
The catalogue, which is laid out in the format of the popular community website www.myspace.com, lists Styles as pro skateboarder Mike Carroll's favorite director.
"I was really surprised Mike Carroll had put my name in his section of the '07 Lakai catalogue," Styles told AVN.com. "I had met Mike a few times through my friend who skates for Girls Skateboards with him, and hung out with him a few times. I gave him some of my movies since I was told he is into porn.
"For me, to have someone who I have looked up to and respected in skateboarding since 1992 mention my name in print was just out of this world…it was just unexpected.
"This is what I love about doing what I do," added Styles, "to be able to stay in touch with the skateboard community through porn is great. Since pretty much all skateboarders love porn, it's a no-brainer."
Styles has a handful of titles releasing for Hustler Video this month, including Barely Legal Corrupted 9, Take it Black 5 and Gaped Crusaders. In addition, the young director has Pin Up Honeys 2 and A List 2 coming out next month.
