VIDEO ON HOLD FOR CAITY MacPHERSON

The bad news: Caity MacPherson's fans will have to live without the tech-obsessed star on video or film for the time being - she's putting that side of her career on hold to concentrate exclusively on her online activities and her forthcoming marriage.

MacPherson has just been named web mistress of Spectator magazine's online version (www.spectator.net) in a part-time, consulting way, but she's enthusiastic about the challenge and the historical underwriting behind it.

Long known as a seminal sex industry magazine, Spectator is stepping up its online presence in a big way, and hiring MacPherson was a key to the step-up.

"I've been sort of getting to know them and their Web mistress has developed a fabulous site, and she decided she really wants to expand it," she says by telephone from San Francisco. "Wants to do some ad space and expand it. And they hired me…to help them shoot it up there. This is exciting because Spectator and Spectator online combine…years of experience in the sex industry in San Francisco with a perspective on technology."

MacPherson says she wants to bring the magazine's Web version a "fresh, sophisticated look and vibe. It has this great background of having an historical perspective, and I want to bring more of the high tech futuristic stuff to it."

She's not giving up JuicyMango.com or her activity with the Bay Area Adult Sites discussion and trade group. She says JuicyMango has become "much bigger" thanks to a partnership with an unnamed Seattle Net partner. "They're doing my hosting and we've added some content to the site," she says. "We're still doing the amateur vibe, but they've added some live feeds, exclusive live feed programs and stuff, including A Woman Named China."

The site still features its signature Women of Silicon Valley series - which hits MacPherson where she lives even more now. A self-confessed techie-nerd lover, she's fallen in love with a Silicon Valley techie and plans to be married next year.

"He is publicity shy; he's not in this business," she laughs.

MacPherson says all these activities mean her film, video, and stage performances are on hold indefinitely. "But I'll definitely be in touch in August," she says. "I'll be getting my bachelorette party ready - and there'll be none of this traditional let's go out and look at naked men stuff. We're going to have lapdancers, male and female strippers, boys and girls…and I dream of having it Webcast."
