CYBERSPACE—OK, that does it ... The past few days, one by one, mainstream outlets around the globe have posted stories about a British politician who's also a "porn star."
Now, the South African site TimesLive.co.za has upgraded Johnny Rockard to "porn baron."
Funny thing is, knowledgeable sources in the British adult industry say, "Johnny WHO?"
This isn't the first time Rockard has hit AVN's Google alerts. Back in January 2014, AVN reported that he had gained notoriety when he was seen in a sub rosa porn shoot at the University of West England.
Now he's in the news under his real name, John Langley, as a candidate in the ward of Stockwood in Bristol, representing the U.K. Independence Party. According to the Telegraph, “a senior Ukip official has said the party is ‘proud’ to represent people regardless of what they do in their private lives, after it was revealed that the man working under him was a veteran porn star.”
So, what do some of Britain's ACTUAL porn stars have to say about Rockard and his curriculum vitae?
"Never heard of him, mate!" said adult performer Danny D., a 2015 AVN Awards nominee for Male Foreign Performer of the Year. “Not being nasty or anything but I know pretty much all U.K. talent and just asked everyone on set and a few girls and no one has heard of him as talent I'm afraid!"
Tanya Tate, an adult star from the United Kingdom who currently directs movies and performs in girl/girl scenes when she's not cosplaying at comic book conventions, contacted some of her colleagues to see if she could shed some light on Rockard's accomplishments. "I reached out to a few of the main directors I know. I asked Television X. Asked well-known performers," Tate said. "No one has ever heard of him. Looks like some amateur guy who picks up a camera and asks girls to shoot. He is definitely not known to anyone in the U.K. adult industry."
Tate added, "I read he was a talent scout. Dunno which talent he scouts for. Can't even find a website. None of the established U.K. producers would use an unknown agency to book girls from. I read he is a veteran porn star. Maybe veteran 'man with a camera,' but definitely no porn star."
And definitely not a "porn baron."
