The Minister of Women's Affairs has called on Cambodian authorities to prosecute an American who operates an Internet porn site based in Phnom Penh, after a local newspaper reported quoted him as saying he would begin live bondage shows over the Web next month.
The Internet is usually allowed to operate unfettered in the Cambodian capital, but Minister Mu Sochua tells Reuters she met several groups of women and attorneys who were outraged at Dan Sandler's Net porn operation.
"It's an act against the dignity and value of Cambodian women and children," she tells Reuters. "We cannot accept this, and we need to do something to strengthen the rule of law in this country."
Mu Sochua says she wants Sandler to be charged under two articles of Cambodia's constitution, both of which prohibit exploitation of women, Reuters says.
