U.K. GRANDMOTHER CONVICTED OF CHILD PORN

A grandmother has been convicted of downloading sexual pictures of young girls from the Internet.

Barbara Dexter told Aberystwyth magistrates she stored them because she "was curious, having suffered sexual abuse when she was a child," says the London Daily Telegraph.

The paper says the images were found on her computer by her former husband at their home in Ceredigion.

Prosecutor Peter Lloyd said that the 51-year-old woman called the pictures "improper but decent" when questioned, the Telegraph says.

A post office clerk, Dexter was convicted of five charges of possessing indecent photographs and faces sentencing next month.
