We've heard of phone sex, but this is getting a little too literal: a British software maker is selling something that turns your cellular telephone into (drumroll please)…a sex toy, for only $2.35 to download it straight into your phone.
That is, of course, assuming your cell phone is a Nokia, and you'd like to try Vibelet.com's new software, called Purring Kitty, and don't mind your cell phone's vibrating ring capability becoming a "discreet, vibrating massager," according to Wired.
Says the company on its Website, "Its tender purring vibrations provide perfect company on even the loneliest winter nights!" Said the developer to Wired, asking to be called Zoe Walsh instead of his actual name, "No, it's not a joke. That's one of our biggest problems, in fact. We had to delay the launch date to avoid April 1. It's a joke product, but it definitely works."
He told the magazine Purring Kitty has been downloaded "a few dozen times" without advertising - and he knew of only one incident in which it was used for its intended purpose. "This girl in the pub grabbed my phone, put it down her front pocket and wouldn't give it back to me until the batteries had run down," he told Wired. "It's the only confirmed use I know of. She had a very pleasant time."
