Trick-or-Porn: Inappropriate Halloween Treat Leads to Obscenity Arrest

While not everyone in America hands out candy on Halloween, the alternatives are generally edible – and even when they aren’t, they’re not likely to lead to an obscenity charge.

According to the Associated Press, Andrew McClure Johnson was arrested over the weekend for dropping Adult DVDs into the bags of two 13-year-old boys on Halloween.

Johnson, 23, is charged with felony obscenity and could face more than a year of jail if convicted.

The two boys destroyed the DVDs by crushing them into the ground almost immediately after they received them, fearing they would get in trouble for having them. One of the teens reported the incident to his grandmother, who called police.

Authorities said Johnson later admitted giving the DVDs to the boys, but said he felt bad afterward and told officers he "didn't know what he was thinking."

Johnson, an employee of the online bookstore of Westwood College, had no previous criminal history in Colorado. He is currently out on bail.
