Former porn star Traci Lords has a book coming out in July called Underneath It All, which covers her underage entry into the adult entertainment industry as well as her traumatic childhood before porn, and her attempt to establish herself as a mainstream actress after porn.
"I was high school sophomore Nora Kuzma by day and nude centerfold model Traci Lords by night. I avoided my girlfriends, ditched classes, and barely squeaked by in school," she writes.
After classmates discovered her in a Penthouse spread, Lords dropped out of school and "just happened" to end up in porn the same year.
Her version of her first adult video places Lords as an extra who ended up participating in an orgy.
"All I can say is I never intended to be filmed having sex . . . and I only realized it was being filmed when it was almost over and I had already given into a feeling I had never known during sex - power," she wrote.
Lords also takes the time to talk about people she hated in the adult industry including AVN Hall of Famers Ginger Lynn and Ron Jeremy.
