Torrid Entertainment reported that it has moved its offices to accommodate the need for more space, and will now begin handling its own distribution from its new facility. Torrid was previously distributed by Defiance Films, and the two companies shared a building.
Torrid Head of Production Keith O’Connor told AVN.com that this move was a natural progression for the company. “You would walk into the old facility and there was so much product that there was literally no room to move,” said O’Connor. “Now that we’ve moved to our own building, both Defiance and Torrid can run fluidly.
“We got a really nice bump from Defiance in the beginning, but now we’re putting out enough product that we’re able to function on our own. This is the kind of thing that typically happens in the industry…a company gets big enough to do things on their own.
“Torrid is giving the same help to Starlight Pictures right now, and though I don’t look forward to it, after 30 or 40 releases, that company might need to do the same thing and go out on its own as well.
“Both Torrid and Defiance have always been their own companies.”
