Tommy Gunn Discusses Male Performer Win

Male Performer of the Year winner Tommy Gunn found a moment to reflect on his victory after a four-hour trek home from Sin City's grips. But "It still hasn't sunk in for me yet," Gunn told AVN.com.

Gunn brought home four AVN Awards (out of nine nominations) this year, including Male Performer of the Year, which puts him in the coveted position of being the first recipient of the Best Male Newcomer award to go on to win Male Performer of the Year, which he did within two-year time span.

"Not even a Best New Starlet has gone on to become the Female Performer of the Year," explained Gunn.

Gunn's other wins this year, including Best Group Scene and Best Oral Scene from Brad Armstrong's FUCK (Wicked Pictures). Gunn brought home the award for Best POV Scene from Jack's Playground with co-star Naomi, the Best New Starlet recipient for 2007.

"I really want to make it clear how much I respect and appreciate the male performers who have come before me and paved the way for guys like myself to be in this business," Gunn continued. "It's a real privilege and an honor and I'd like to pay homage to a few people who aren't around anymore, including John Dough.... our whole industry felt his loss this last year... I'm accepting this award on behalf of all the guys in this business that have been, are now, or are to come.... this is my chance to be a voice of the male performer.

"I'd also like to personally thank once again Brad Armstrong and Rick Davis, who shared the responsibility in giving me my first opportunities to perform, [as well as] all the great actresses who make my job so wonderful, the directors, the producers, the entire industry, thanks to everybody."

Asked what he's got in store forĀ 2007, Gunn said he's got a long list. "Continuing to work on my acting skills, and I've been training for stunts and fighting, with an eye towards doing more mainstream work, without abandoning the industry that has treated me so well."

"I'm really excited about Pirates 2, and I hope to see my character make a comeback," said Gunn.

Gunn said that his growing company, Assassin Pictures (www.assassinpictures.com), is also keeping him pretty busy these days.
