Tim Connelly Joins AVN as Publisher/Editor; Fishbein Becomes President, Ramone Named Managing Editor

In a move to consolidate its position as the definitive authority on the adult entertainment industry, AVN Media Network today named Tim Connelly as Publisher and Editor of AVN Magazine and Editor of AVN.com. Announcement of the appointment was made by AVN founder Paul Fishbein, who said he would leave the publisher’s job and assume the role of President of AVN Publications, Inc. Mike Ramone moves to Managing Editor of AVN.

"This is a move that Tim and I had discussed over the years and the timing seems right," Fishbein said. "This is our 20th year of publishing AVN and Tim brings us an exciting new vision of what the magazine can become in the years ahead. With Tim and Mike Ramone working together, we will have tremendous editorial strength and be able to cover the adult industry in even greater depth as we strengthen our role as the only place you need to go for every aspect of news, information, reviews and adult industry insight."

Connelly served for 19 years at Knight Publishing, where he was Editor-in-Chief of Adam Film World, The Annual Directory of Adult Films, Adam Black Video Annual Directory, Players Magazine, Players Girls Pictorial, Players Nasty, Black Legs and Teenz. He has written and edited under a variety of pseudonyms, including Jeremy Stone, John Slade, Johnny Steele, C.F. Frost and Larry McKay.

He also served as Knight’s Marketing and Advertising Director through his corporation, Media One for Publishers Service, Inc., which places advertising in all Knight and Players Publications including Amateur Porn, Adam Gay Video XXX Showcase, Adam Gay Erotica and the Annual Directory of Gay Adult Video.

"Tim Connelly has more insight and appreciation of the adult industry than anyone I know," said Fishbein. "He has worked in the adult industry for 26 years, as an actor in more than 50 adult feature films, has been published in every major men's magazine in the world, and he should have an indelible impact on AVN’s writing, reporting and recording the history of the adult entertainment industry."

Connelly said, "I want bring my experience to the tremendous resource that Paul Fishbein has developed and help take AVN to an even more powerful level. We’ll consolidate AVN’s position as the ultimate brand in our category of the publishing industry and as the only place to go to know what's really going on in our world.

He said AVN Media Network intends to re-launch the Annual Buyers Guide as well as create a GAYVN Annual Buyers Guide. "We will make AVN.com the place to go for minute-by-minute coverage of the industry. We have our eyes on at least a dozen projects that will do more to mainstream the adult entertainment industry from the inside out."

Ramone joined AVN in 2000, bringing with him powerful experience as a wire service correspondent and daily newspaper editor.
