Three More Arrests in N.C. Sex Shop Case

Adult retailer Greg Sakas and two of his employees were arrested today on a third-degree misdemeanor charge stemming from a January police raid on Sakas' store Pure Bliss.

Sakas had been calling New Bern police for over a week in anticipation of an arrest warrant. Despite the store owner's efforts to cooperate, local authorities reportedly ignored his phone calls and served the paperwork in Goldsboro, N.C.

Sakas was charged with violating a state law that prohibits the sales of adult videos and novelties in the same establishment. Earlier today, the store owner drove to the New Bern police station with employee Linwood O'Neal to turn himself in, only to be re-directed to a sheriff's station in Goldsboro.

New Bern police separately picked up Paul Weber, the manager of Sakas' Tender Moments outlet in Roanoke Rapids.

Both Weber and O'Neal were present at Pure Bliss when the outlet was raided by New Bern police, who allegedly acted on a tip from the Christian Coalition. A third store manager was arrested last week on the same charges.

Sakas and O'Neal were released this afternoon on bail. Weber was released on his own recognizance.

Sakas and his co-defendants are scheduled to appear in New Bern District Court on May 10.
