Three new Japanese adult-oriented animated features are due this summer: Photon: Enemy Pawn, The Slayers Try: Love Eternal? and Demon Beast Invasion 1 & 2.
Central Park Media, which handles a considerable share of the Japanese animation market in the United States, calls Photon: Enemy Pawn "a delightful meld of comedy and action/adventure" from the team responsible for Techno Muyo, Masaki Kajishima and Yousuke Kuroda. The plot features Photon with a new bride "who can't cook anything that isn't poison," who challenges a childhood friend to a cooking contest.
The Slayers Try: Love Eternal? has protagonist Lina gathering talismans from two "stubbornly squabbling kingdoms," with a pair of star-crossed lovers standing to either help or block her search.
Both films are due for release July 11, in both English dubbed and English subtitled versions.
Demon Beast Invasion 1 & 2 is a DVD release from Anime18 of the erotic horror classic. The Demon Beasts, driven from their home world by an ecological disaster and mating in disguise with human women to open a path for invaders, are challenged when Agent Muneto of Interplanetary Mutual Observation defends Kayo, a 19-year-old raped by a possessed lover and the mother of a Demon Beast mutation.
Featuring Toshio Maeda, Teruo Takahama, and Rusher Ikeda, all of whom worked on such animated erotica as La Blue Girl, Demon Beast Invasion 1 & 2 is set for a July 18 release, with English subtitles.
