Barely had he time to enjoy his two AVN Awards for Compulsion and finishing Cadillac Highway for Private when Axel Braun needed a little unscrewing: He accepted an invitation to appear on TechTV's Unscrewed, the late-night show hosted by Martin Sargent.
“I love the show and it was an honor to be invited,” Braun said, announcing the segment. “Plus I got a free trip to San Francisco and a chance to promote my first feature for Private.”
Braun, who had his hands insured because of their ability to make women squirt, also got a chance to disabuse an audience misconception about his hand insurance – it has nothing to do with his camera work.
“I guess they thought I insured my hands for $2 million each because of my ability in handling a camera…God, I only wish," said Braun, who also discussed the state of the industry in general and how technology enhances and challenges it. "Still, when I explained that my only gift is being able to make women squirt, I got a standing ovation.”
Private general manager Ric Williams said the company was pleased to have one of its directors making TechTV. “The adult industry has always been the innovator in new video technology," he said, "and Private has been at the front of that new innovation with items like its new PDA chip and broadband streaming.”
An unidentified Unscrewed producer said Braun "put a dead sexy face" on adult entertainment when he sat with Sargent for the show. “His humor and intelligence were a welcome addition to the show," the producer said, "and he gave us a true insider’s look at the industry. He was an excellent guest – good looking, funny, intelligent, and those hands… need I say more? We'd have him back in a hot second.”
