The Mr. Marcus party, hosted by Fiction Films, was held this past Saturday night at the Blossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where, according to AVN's Tod Hunter, the First Academy Awards were held. The first Academy Awards(r) were given out on May 16, 1929, according to Hunter. [The winners had been announced previously, but this was the handing-out of the Awards, which weren't called Oscars(r) yet, by the way.]
