The AVN Online Interview: Rachel Rotten

In this day and age of porn - where silicone has replaced au naturel as the breast of choice; where the surgically-enhanced, blonde-haired, blue-eyed California look rules; and where even a natural beauty like Tera Patrick has gone under the knife - it's refreshing to find a gal who's comfortable with her body and confident enough in her looks to forge an individual path. Rachel Rotten is just such a girl.

Born and raised in San Francisco, 21-year-old Rotten quickly made a name for herself in the jizz biz by sticking to her guns and standing firm in what she believes. A punk rocker through and through, Rotten has refused to change her image just to make it in the industry. As it turns out, it's helped her tremendously in forging her own path; along with the Suicide Girls, she has quickly become the poster child for the burgeoning punk-porn movement.

If Belladonna ruled in 2003, then Rachel Rotten looks to be the queen of 2004 and, perhaps, beyond.

AVN Online: Since this is our music issue and you are our representative punk-porn gal, allow me to start by asking, who is your favorite punk band?

Rachel Rotten:

The Misfits - the early stuff with Glenn Danzig - is my favorite band of all time.

AO: Tell me a little bit about your Website, TheRottens.com.

RR: My site is a great way for me to get to know my fans better. If you're a member, you can e-mail me and talk to me in the chat room. I talk to fans all the time and have met some really cool people.

AO: You are so sexily punk. Is this a look designed to shock and be different, or is this the real Rachel Rotten?

RR: This is me. I've been part of the punk scene for a long time. This wasn't some calculated image, this is just who I am.

AO: Has there ever been any negative feedback or hassles from other performers who might be jealous of your look?

RR: No, not yet. Not as far as I know. I don't look like the typical blonde, big-boobed porn star, which has worked to my advantage so far. So there haven't been any problems... yet.

AO: There seems to be a whole trend of punk-goth porn girls. What do you think of this movement?

RR: I love that there are all these punk porn people coming out now. I love the Suicide Girls and think they have lots of really gorgeous girls.

AO: Where do you see this trend going from here?

RR: Hopefully there will be more good music in porn, more punk music. Maybe more bands will start having sex in the videos.

AO: I notice all your scenes with men are with your real-life boyfriend Rob Rotten. How did you two first get into porn?

RR: Rob and I had been going out for about a year and we really loved porn. We used to watch porn together all the time and eventually decided to try it out.

AO: Did you have aspirations of being a huge porn star when you first got into it, or was it just for fun?

RR: At first it was just for kicks, but then I started doing really well in the business so I decided to stay in it and see how far it could go. So far, it's been going great.

AO: What was your first experience in porn?

RR: I started doing gonzo and eventually ended up in some bigger features.

AO: Do like to act or do prefer the all-sex of gonzo?

RR: I like acting, but I never had aspirations to be an actress. But it's fun and I think I'm pretty good at it.

AO: Recently, you did a scene with Jenna Jameson. How did you two hook up?

RR: I met Jenna on the set of The Masseuse. She really liked me and handpicked me for a scene with her in The Devil in Miss Jones 7.

AO: How was it having sex with Jenna?

RR: Well, she was my first, so...

AO: You mean your first time with a girl was on camera with Jenna Jameson? Wow. Pretty impressive.

RR: Yeah, there was a certain innocence captured there, since it was my first time. She was the dominant one. It was really fun.

AO: What porn star do you want to have sex with that you haven't so far?

RR: Briana Banks. She is really hot.

AO: What is your favorite of all the pornos you've done?

RR: My favorite was Little Runaway. It was just really fun and punk rock. D.I. played and we all got to destroy this room that was supposed to be a club. It was a lot of fun.

AO: So now that you are knee-deep in the porn world, what is you goal in the business?

RR: I want to take this as far as I can. I have already gone further than I ever thought I would in this business. I look different and people seem to like that. I had no idea people would like me as much as they do.
