SAN DIEGO - Terminal Press will unveil four new issues in its 'HARD/CORE' line of comic books at the 2008 San Diego Comic-Con, running July 24-27 at the San Diego Convention Center. Licensed from Arrow Productions, the titles include "Deep Throat," "Candy Stripers," "The Devil in Miss Jones" and "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here."
The non-pornographic 'mature reader' comics place the characters and concepts from the original films in new scenarios designed for contemporary audiences. Terminal Press launched the series in January with a post-apocalyptic adaptation of "Debbie Does Dallas" that debuted at the 2008 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
"Working on these iconic properties with the freedom we've been given has been inspiring to everyone involved," said publisher Brian Ferrara. "Arrow metaphorically dumped out the toy box in front of us and just let us play - I think that fun and excitement comes across in each of these titles."
"Deep Throat" is a campy spy thriller by writer Keith McCleary, artist Alex Reigel and colorist Narek Gevorgian. "Candy Stripers" is a dark fairy tale by writer Brian Ferrara, artist Garrett Eisenheim and colorist Adam Street. "The Devil in Miss Jones" is a horror title by writer Christopher E. Long, artist Ken Knudtsen and colorist Narek Gevorgian. "Tell Them Johnny Wadd is Here" is a crime drama by writer Tony Fleecs, colorist Narek Gevorgian, with the artist still to be announced (promo art by Seth Frail.)
Arrow will release more in-depth information and previews from each title in the coming weeks along with news relating to television and toys.
The limited edition books will be available exclusively through terminalpress.com and Terminal Press' convention appearances.
