Website properties belonging toadult entertainment personality Taylor Wayne were hacked and “completely erased” Feb. 9.
All of Wane's sites (TaylorWane.com, TaylorWane.net, MoBooty.com, PlanetPorno.com, and TaylorWaynePeepcams.com) were affected, the performer said.
"A bunch of underground hackers or programmers are hi-jacking high bandwidth servers to share files via IRC channels," Wane told AVN.com in an e-mail. "The hackers attacked the servers yesterday, and my Web host fought tooth-and-nail to cut them off, but after hours of trying to stop them, [the hackers] eventually got pissed off and deleted over eight gigs of my site."
Apparently, the hackers weren't interested in adult material as much server space. "They weren't actually stealing my content, only my bandwidth to transfer possibly pirated DVDs across the world," Wane said.
As of post time, Wane's sites were only partially recovered, but she promises a return to cyberspace as soon as possible. "Everyone at the hosting company are working every hour to get my site back up on a more secure server," Wane said.
Wane, well-known in the adult video world and online for her popular family of sites and for her personal attention to her fans, offered the following warning to fellow Webmasters: "These Internet cockroaches are out to steal your bandwidth. Beware of an unusual upturn in bandwidth use."
