TabooRevenue Retools Business Model and Software

Affiliate software provider TabooRevenue has launched TabooTracking Version 2.0, the latest version of its adult-track affiliate software, and refocused their company on software development.

Version 2.0 has beefed up TabooTracking by adding custom templates, Web page replication, simple content management, and cascading billing support, among other things.

In rededicating themselves to TabooTracking, TabooRevenue has moved away from being a co-brand affiliate provider.

“What we found is that people are hesitant to join such a network, only because they want more control over their program. They want to be able to gain affiliates on their own without having us market to those affiliates for the other programs involved,” said Mandy Haga, TabooRevenue general manager.

“So what we’ve done is changed our approach. We still have the ability for affiliates to use our screening services along with our software, which is the core of our business. We’ve added the functionality for these clients to screen their own affiliates, get the affiliates themselves, without having the affiliates marketed to for other programs.”

Haga said that many of the new features to the TabooTracking software are also a result of client suggestions.

“The latest features we’ve added to the solution include the ability to cascade. We didn’t have that because we were marketing to a mainstream environment and they don’t need cascading billing,” she said. “The adult market was requesting the ability to do so.”

“We also have had requests for a content management area and we’ve added a simple form of that in this version, which we plan to expand on.”

The cascading billing support will enable clients to cascade their billing with CCBill, Epoch, and Netbilling.

In conjunction with the launch of Version 2.0, TabooTracking is running a number of promotions.

For the next 45 days new clients can get TabooRevenue installed on a UNIX-compatible server, integrated with one processor or shopping cart, one free upgrade, free program set-up assistance and consultation, and one hour of technical support for a one-time fee of $500.

In addition, Netbilling is offering to waive their $199 setup fees for new TabooRevenue clients who set up merchant accounts; Epoch will waive the $750 Visa setup fee; and PimpsPromo will provide a $20 rebate on advertising packages over $500.
