TRACI LORDS WINS NEARLY $130,000

She's long since gone mainstream, but former porn star Traci Lords has won nearly $130,000 in a lawsuit involving her only legal porn film, Traci, I Love You.

She won the suit against the film's distributor, Caballero Control Corp., who sold the film without permission.

Lords made Traci, I Love You in Cannes, days after she turned 18, following a controversial career in which she made dozens of adult films as a teenager between 14 and 17.

She told the Associated Press Monday she's relieved now that the case is settled. "I made a mistake," says the one-time Melrose Place television star. "I'm now 31 years old. That's a long time ago. I've been waiting for my debt to be paid and now it has."

Lords' other films are illegal in the United States because of her age when she made them.

Cabellero was found in default for selling Traci, I Love You as well as a video culling of clips from the film to which Lords believed she owned the rights. A federal jury awarded Lords $128,753 in damages and found using her name and likeness on the films' packaging were worth $750.

Attorney Stanley Stone tells the AP Caballero has not decided whether to appeal.
