TLAVideo.com: Attack Of The POD People

TLAVideo.com, the retail Website of TLA Entertainment Group, announced the introduction of TLA PODS this week, a new content syndication tool that enables Webmasters to get continually updated information on their site without any effort on their part. TLA sees this as "a major leap in affiliate technology and personalized service."

"The TLA PODS were inspired by a desire to provide Webmasters an ease of use they may not have been offered before," Brian M. Sokel in TLA online marketing told AVNOnline.com. "As any Webmaster knows, the key to getting traffic is building content. A Website with stale content is a site that is forgotten as quickly as it is discovered. Affiliate programs exist primarily to assist the Webmaster in creating revenue to keep their passion alive. For many Webmasters, the content on their pages is their love, their hobby. However, it is time consuming for a Webmaster to continually visit the parent site to pull links and cover art to post on their site. Thus, very quickly content becomes stale.

"TLA PODS allow affiliate members to customize their POD ("point of departure") in size, design and content, which will vary each time a visitor lands on the affiliate's Web page. By clicking on an individual icon within the POD, the visitor will immediately be sent to that particular product page at TLAVideo.com where they can make their purchase, thus increasing the likelihood of a TLA sale and an affiliate commission. With a TLA POD the affiliate knows that at least the content on their website from TLA Video will be fresh and new every time a customer and potential shopper lands on their site. This leads to increased conversion and increased revenue for the affiliate."

In designing their POD, affiliates enjoy multiple selections within four areas: category, type, size, and content. PODS are available for sites with mainstream general, gay-lesbian general, lesbian-specific, gay adult, and straight adult audiences. PODS can have horizontal, vertical or grid orientations, and either come with illustrations or be in a text list format. Webmasters can chose how many images they want for their POD, and the vertical format has the option of adding brief descriptions. The content selection is the most innovative aspect of the TLA POD program. Within each category there are 40-100 featured themes for the affiliate Webmaster to choose from. The TLA affiliate program is completely free.

Additionally, each time a visitor goes to the affiliate site, they will see a different set of images within the affiliate's POD, thus keeping the affiliate's site continually looking new and fresh as there are anywhere from a half-dozen to several dozen selections within each theme that will be randomly selected for POD placement. Once the affiliate has made their selection, they will be provided with a line of HTML code that they merely cut and paste into their site program. That is all they have to do, as the image rotation will be done for them by TLA.

TLAVideo.com has always been a full-service retail site -- three years ago it was listed in Forbes magazine's "Best of Web" issue for video retail -- but it has been especially strong in adult content. Its gay adult section is among the largest on the Web and it won Cybersocket magazine's "Best Video-DVD Website" award every year since the awards began. Over the past two years, TLA's straight adult site has grown as well.
