THINKFilm to Distribute ‘F**K’ Documentary

THINKFilm, a New York-based film distribution company, has agreed to distribute “F**K,” a documentary by filmmaker Steve Anderson on how people use the famed four-letter word.

With interviews of AVN Hall of Famer Ron Jeremy, actors Drew Carey, Billy Connolly, comedian Bill Maher, the late journalist Hunter S. Thompson and musician Alanis Morrissette, the documentary outlines how the word has managed to permeate nearly all of society.

The film also features interviews with scholars and linguists who examine the f-word’s colorful history, while comedians and others defend their right to use it.

“Steve has made a wonderfully clever, informative and energetic film and we are not only excited to be releasing it, but we are thrilled to be among the companies who can,” said Mark Urman, head of THINKFilm’s theatrical division.

Anderson said the movie is especially appropriate now, given the political climate in the U.S.

“This work is at the very center of the ongoing debate over Free Speech in our country and from the moment I began this project, I knew we had to find a distributor who would embrace the ideas and conflicts this film explores,” he said.

The film is set for release later this year. Showtime is scheduled to broadcast it in 2007.
