THE NEXT PORN CAPITAL - TORONTO?

Easy money to be made is a key reason why "otherwise respectable" people in Toronto are looking for a piece of the porn filming or Web site posting business, says a leading newspaper report here.

"A woman walks into a popular fast-food restaurant in clean-cut, downtown Toronto," says the National Post.. "The 'girl-next-door' waitress serves her a Coke, then unexpectedly asks, "Have you ever thought about being in a porn movie?"

The paper says that happened to a Toronto reporter. "People would be surprised by the growth of porn in Toronto, which I would put at tenfold," says Detective Joanna Beaven of Toronto Police's Special Investigation Services, to the paper.

The lure seems to be big money and a quick return on investment, the National Post says.

"Today anyone can get on the Internet and go underground to do live sex shows," Beaven tells the paper. "In the past, having people come over to watch live sex shows would constitute a bawdy house. But the Internet is now allowing people to view all sorts of sexual events right from their living-room chair."
