THE ALLURE OF ALLUREX

Although it's received slightly better overseas than in the United States for now, the all-natural sexual enhancement product Allurex is catching on in its first year-and-a-half, among women more than men for now, says its marketing director.

"My guess would be that…maybe 55-60 percent female are using Allurex," says Art Bond of Allurex, made from the extract of green oats. "Men get into the ego thing, with women it's just the sexual thing. The men say they don't need it compared to the women."

And one point in the product's marketing favor - it requires no prescription and can be taken daily, as opposed to the prescription Viagra which is taken when a man is interested in sex but nothing more. Another point: there is a male-specific and female-specific Allurex available.

"It helps free up testosterone bound up in the systems of both male and female," Bond says, "allowing it to work as an energizer, a sexual enhancement. The male results are a longer, firmer erection, quicker recovery time, those are two of the basic ones. The female results are, it increases sexual interest, helps increase sensitivity, and helps increase a woman's lubrication."

Part of Allurex's overseas success has been its availability, plus the fact that its target condition is something people feel more free to discuss now. "When Viagra came out, (sexual dysfunction) suddenly became something people could talk about," Bond says. "And Pfizer (who make Viagra) had difficulty exporting it to Europe and Asia, so we became the new kid on the block. No prescription, no adverse side effects, all natural. We established some international distribution already."

One who touts the product highly is sex therapist Dr. Patti Britton, who champions Allurex on her own Web site and was herself involved in the research which produced Allurex.

"This is the one best, 100 percent natural, safe, homeopathic sexual enhancement product on the market today," Britton says on her Web site. "(T)he sheer levels of great, lasting energy make this worth the try....the sexual effects I have seen with clients have been astounding."
