THAILAND BLOCKS WEB PORN

Thai police say they've blocked access to several Internet porn sites showing sexually explicit photographs plus superimposed faces of some of Thailand's best-known film stars and models.

Criminal Suppression Department commander Maj. Gen. Assawin Khwanmuang tells United Press International he received good cooperation from seventeen Internet service providers in last Friday's shutdown.

"I felt disgusted and sick when I saw my face superimposed on a porno star," said model and actress Angkana Thimdee to UPI. "They were absolutely obscene."

Thai law bans publication of such photographs and calls for fines of $5,000 and up to two years in prison for violators.
