TEARING IT UP FOR GINGER

Ginger Lynn's first adult feature in 13 years, Torn, is getting what its producers hope will be the full treatment 26 August, with a sneak preview and meet-the-public party at the Hustler Hollywood club in West Hollywood.

"We're hoping for complete and total mayhem," says VCA Pictures publicist/contract girl Kaylie Ireland. "We're hoping, anyway. I think there'll be a lot of people there, anyway, and (Lynn) hasn't made any adult film in so long."

Actually, Ireland says, this is part of a "unique opportunity" for Lynn. Torn is scheduled for a September release, while another mainstream film appearance for Lynn, The Independent, featuring Janeane Garofalo and Jerry Stiller plus legendary Sex Pistols lead singer Johnny Rotten (real name: John Lydon), is due for a November release.

Torn will preview at the Hustler Hollywood at 8 p.m., following a two-hour meet-the-public sign and chat session at the club. Following the preview, there will be a VIP party for Lynn and the picture at the Cat Club across from Hustler Hollywood.

Ireland also says a large billboard advertisement for Torn will go up by mid-week next week at VCA's billboard location above Dublin's in Hollywood.

Lynn herself has made busy rounds of late preparing for Torn's release with several radio appearances of late.

Earlier this month, Vivid Video, which had made Lynn the first contract girl in the adult film industry, asked the city of Los Angeles to name 7 September as Ginger Lynn Day in honor of Torn's release. The adult film industry has already declared September as Ginger Lynn Month.
