HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—The trans adult community had itself one more TEA party last night, the fourth event in a series of happenings clustered around the Transgender Erotica Awards (TEAs). At the official awards after-party, energy was high as scores of performers, directors and fans congregated at Bardot, the elegant upstairs bar at the Avalon.
The night before, the action was all downstairs at the Avalon, where the TEA awards ceremony took place. See story and photo galleries of the crowd, the red carpet, the stage show and the winners.
The gathering at Bardot offered a mix of amusements: dancing in the upper bar area, a photo wall where the performers vamped for photographers and fans, and plenty of couches where friends could talk and relax.
Many of the stars who had been seen at the previous weekend’s events were in attendance, including Yasmin Lee, Holly Parker, Morgan Bailey, Foxxy, Becca Benz, Eddie Wood and Miran.
Both veterans and newcomers were in attendance, ready to talk about their latest projects. Among the vets were The Commander, celebrating the Lifetime Achievement Award he received after 20 years of work with Grooby. Also there was Bob of BobTgirls.com fame, who himself started in 1998. The night before he had been on stage at the TEAs to announce the Bob’s Tgirls Model of the Year, an honor that went to Domino Presley—who, he asserted, is “as near to perfect as a human being can get.”
Among the award winners in attendance was Mona Wales, awarded a trophy for Best Non-TS Performer – Female. But Wales was already looking to the future, which will bring a very intriguing debut with her new directing deal with Grooby.
The party was also a chance to meet newcomers, among them the intriguing River Stark, who was nominated for Best New Face and who also presented an award the night before. Though she just started in October, Stark is already an active member of the community. Her first hardcore shoots were with Joey Silvera, and now she’s planning to do VR shoots with Grooby.
Even newer to the biz was Isabella Sorrenti, whose first shoot was with Blackula for Grooby. Sorrenti says she strives for a glamorous look—and she certainly succeeded that night. A platinum blonde, she evokes Hollywood’s classic pinups.
