Swiss Man caught in Internet Sting

San Bernardino County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Swiss businessman on Wed, Sept. 9th in an Internet sting. Edward Duber was arrested after arriving at a San Bernardino hotel where he planned to meet and have sex with an eleven-year- old girl. \n The arrangements, made in a chatroom over the Internet, had really been set up by San Bernardino County Sheriffs. \n Deputies and Customs Agents seized Duber's passport and laptop computer. Duber's laptop is said to contain hundreds of images of child porn, adding to his charges in this case. Duber faces arraignment today on state and federal charges of possession of child pornography and attempting to have sex with a minor. He is currently being held on $500,000 bail. \n Many California law enforcement agencies are taking a proactive approach dealing with child pornography on the Internet and adults luring kids to meet via chatrooms. Sheriffs in San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties have special task forces focusing on this growing problem on the net. \n The detectives spend time in chatrooms, mostly posing as young females. When an unsuspecting adult tries to arrange a meeting for sex with the detectives posing as kids, the Sheriffs show up and arrest the potential child abusers on a variety of charges.
