Sweden’s Erika Lust to Develop Movies for Women

Swedish producer/director Erika Lust is developing movies geared for women.

She has also begun a new blog outlining her plans for making porn for women through her company, Lust Films, www.lustfilms.com.

Speaking from her headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, Lust says she is working on developing new projects aimed at women that will also interest men. She says she’s tired of male-dominated porn aimed at men and is developing an alternative style of porn.

“I don’t want to criticize it, there are a lot of people (mainly men) who enjoy the porn that already exists and that seems perfectly fine to me, even if I don’t like it personally,” she says on her Web site.

“I just want to broaden the perspective, to give an alternative to young modern people like me who want something else, something different.”

Having produced The Good Girl in 2004, not to be confused with the Jennifer Aniston comedy of the same title released that year, Lust says she hopes to develop more titles geared for women and their particular sensibilities.

The Good Girl won best short film category in Barcelona’s International Erotic Film Festival in 2005.

A performer and director who previously worked with Private, Lust created Lust Films in 2003 which last year signed a deal with MTV Spain to produce sex-related news segments.
