Suze Randall has been “Addicted to Sex” and shown off her “Dark Side” through her video company Suze Randall Productions, but now she plans on blowing the lid of home theaters everywhere by getting “Undressed & Oversexed.”
“I think they’re all great,” Randall says of her recent releases, but if anything made “Undressed & Oversexed” particularly memorable for the esteemed director, it was casting. “I think having Belladonna was a great thrill,” she tells AVN.com. “I’ve always adored Belladonna and we’ve worked together for many years was a great thrill. She’s pregnant now, so this it for a while.”
Randall is shooting the recent releases with her daughter Holly, who operates a second camera on the set. “It’s all Holly’s fault,” she says. “She got me back into doing videos, dragged me back, actually. But once we got rolling we found it was so much easier.” Randall believes that the relative speed of her current method of working – shooting stills in the morning and than using that as a springboard to capture scenes on video, has been beneficial for her work. “Now I see the girl and get to know the girl, but we stop dawdling and capture the passion, fucking all day long. It’s really quite amazing.” She also cites being able to spend more money to make the sets sumptuous also makes filming more pleasurable.
The stills are an integral part of her work process, Randall laughs, and an enjoyable one “because I don’t have to keep quiet!” The difference is that “Before I’d do stills for days. I’d spend all day making artistic shots, wanking away… Now I have to get my lighting quick. I’m improving under pressure. Before we’d spend four days on a photo shoot, or two days on a set – I don’t think it was any better for it. This way you capture the passion instead of boring them into the ground.”
The straightforward nature of the movies also appeals to the director, who says she has no plans to move back into features. “I don’t know; it seems to be working pretty well right now. We shoot a lot, and we can pick the best stuff to put out on DVD. I like this format. I like being able to see the girls, fall in love with a girl, show her beauty and get right into her passion without finding a reason for filming it. With a montage it’s like being at my studio, it’s like a photo shoot. We’re not pretending to be something we’re not.”
The new release has been described as the esteemed director’s major offering of the year. The movie will offer one three-way featuring cover stars Belladonna, Teagan Presley, and Jana Cova and another of which the director is particularly fond starring Lauren Phoenix, Mick Blue and Tristan. Other stars appearing include Shy Love, Sophia and Lanny Barby. Undressed and Oversexed also features continues the line’s focus on quality extras, this time in the form of interviews shot by Holly.
“It’s all the in casting,” the director promises. “That what gives you the electricity. She ends with another laugh, “I just try to make them look as good as possible.”
