Police shot and killed a man suspected of driving the getaway car in an armed robbery of F Street Adult Bookstore early Wednesday, NBC 7/39 reported.
Investigators told reporters that a gunman robbed the adult bookstore just after midnight.
Soon after, police spotted a man fleeing the scene of the crime and removing a stocking mask from his head. Patrol officers pursued the man and, after pulling him over, spotted a handgun on his lap.
The man raised the gun and fired at least one shot, police told NBC 7/39. Both officers returned fire, killing the man.
According to the report, both officers have been placed on administrative leave.
