When Andre Gainey was busted Feb. 17 for watching Chocolate Foam while driving his Mercedes in Schenectady, N.Y., it created an unexpected avalanche of publicity for the four-year-old Sunshine Films comp title.
While the folks at Sunshine Films were previously unaware of Chocolate Foam’s recent attention or its sales spike, a check of the warehouse this afternoon found that they are nearly out of stock thanks to recent sales.
“We’re going to have to order more,” Sunshine co-owner Joseph Shemesh told AVN.com. “We’ve already sold 30 percent more copies of Chocolate Foam this year than in 2003.”
Gainey, 35, was cited after detectives at a traffic light saw that he had pornography playing on screens built in the vehicle’s headrests. He reportedly also had a screen in the passenger-side visor, which was facing the driver. According to the New York Daily News, he was charged with public display of offensive sexual material and operating a vehicle equipped with a TV in the driver’s view.

Shemesh said he is pleased with the attention, but stressed that Sunshine’s business is based on customers who enjoy the company’s quality products.
“We don’t do any advertising, we don’t do any promotion, we don’t have a Website,” Shemesh said. “We just have quality product and customers know it. We’re the best in the West.”
