INDIA—Sunny Leone continues her reign as India's sexy sweetheart by being ranked on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list.
According to the website, "the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list is arrived at by following a complex algorithm and some stringent processes verified by official tabulators."
Delving further into the rankings "the Celebrity 100 ranking is based on two parameters: 1) Estimates of entertainment-related earnings and 2) Estimates of fame. The period under consideration for both is October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.
There's no doubt Leone had a monster year in 2012. Just last month Yahoo! News India announced that Leone was the Most Searched Indian Celebrity on the internet in 2012.
The interest in Leone comes on the heels of her ascent in Bollywood. Not only did she star in the Indian reality show Big Boss 5, she made her Bollywood movie debut in Jism 2.
Here's what Forbes had to say about Leone: "The former Canadian adult entertainment star made her entry into Bollywood with the movie Jism 2. According to Yahoo India's Year in Review 2012, she attracted the most number of online searches among celebrities in 2012 in India. In 2013, she will be seen in Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS 2."
Forbes India also ranked Leone No. 88 in money and No. 54 in fame.
Leone's celebrity on the subcontinent certainly wasn't lost on the voters who selected the winners for the 2013 AVN Awards. She tied with adult mainstream phenom James Deen for Crossover Star of the Year.
