Steve Cadro Killed In Hungary

Steve Cadro, who turned full-time to directing gay porn after his homosexuality was exposed last year, was found murdered in his home here last week, and one of his former models allegedly is being accused of the crime.

Known as Sanyi, the former model was arrested three days after Cadro was found. According to various sources, authorities here believe Sanyi beat and stabbed the director to death when Cadro refused to pay extortion money.

Cadro had been a politically active Hungarian Broadcasting Corporation leader and State Privatization Board figure until his homosexuality was exposed in 1999 by the Hungarian press. He acknowledged it and turned full time to film work. His most recent work, Loss of Innocence, is cited by Gay.com as one of the top 10 gay erotic films in the U.S.

AVN critic Hank Ferguson said of Loss of Innocence, "(T)he well-muscled, uncut cast provides good eye candy, though much of the sex looks methodically staged. A hot final group orgy helps redeem some sexual spontaneity."

Cadro's HUNGarians was nominated for a GayVN Award. His other films as director included Danube Dreams, Merry XXX-Mas, Hungry Hungarians, The Prince and the Pauper, Cue and Balls, Numbers and (as production director) An American in Prague.
