Some two-dozen porn stars and a group of happy fans converged on Live Bait Cantina in Long Beach yesterday for a fundraiser for Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation. A $10 admission gave fans the chance to meet porn stars and buy an opportunity to join them on the volleyball court, and toss softballs to dunk bikini-clad starlets in a dunk tank. A raffle offered videotapes and a date with a porn star.
Among the performers present were Tony Montana with Laurie Holmes, Rayne, Sonja Redd, Nick East, Ron Jeremy, Felecia, Chris Cannon, Erik Everhard, Amber Lynn, AIM founder Sharon Mitchell (seen icing a bruised forearm after a volleyball match), Jack Hammer, Luc Wylder and Alexandra Silk, Missy and Mickey G., Pat and Shelbee Myne, Chennin Blanc and Cheyne Collins, Charlie Angel, Nancy Vee, Allison Embers, Max Hardcore and Herschel Savage.
The downside was that the event raised only $1,500. Mitchell said that's "very below" what AIM normally brings in during a fundraiser - around $5,000 on average, she said.
"We ended up getting maybe $300 from the door as a gift from our promoter," she said. "This wasn't up to our usual standard of fundraisers, and that so noted, all we can do is learn. It's a drop in the bucket, but it's better than nothing, and we had fun."
There was also a prize offered for the performer-participant who raised the most money. Mitchell said that, as of this writing, it was "a toss-up between Amber Lynn and Rayne. We're still tallying the per-person rate."
